Good old rain :). Cat-and-dog weather, drizzle, liquid sunshine, condensation. Rain can set a damper on your day. It is a foe to many vacationers, athletes, sports fans, picnickers, gardeners, campers, and almost everyone out there. It can take a day that is full of excitement and momentum and throw it into slow motion. Yet, is slowing down all that bad? Is a day when you can sit back and listen to the whisper of rain against the window so terrible? Sometimes our lives are full of running around, one point to the other, barely breathing, barely seeing; that we miss the little things. These "little things" can present a nurtured feeling of peace. Stillness can be put into motion, and this motion can stop the day, the stress, and the continuous racing of the mind. Still the "little things" are just that. They are little, and short. They end just as quickly as they started and hold little to no occupancy in our memories. So, I urge you to take time to notice that rain. Even if it is just condensation it is still beautiful. God made it this way. Ponder on how soft and full of serenity a quiet rain is. Be amazed by how powerful the heaviest rain can be. God is there, and even when life feels dry and the only rain you have is the hail of sin, it is okay. He is always there for you, even in the rain. He is just waiting for you to notice Him and give Him the glory for what he has done. So, remember you can reschedule your day, but you can't reschedule the little things.
